You may get confused by the fact that although your doctor has prescribed Tramadol, your pharmacist has dispensed Ultram. Well don't be concerned because they are both the same thing. When Tramadol was first introduced onto the market in 1970, that was its brand name - over time, however, Tramadol has become generic and Ultram is simply Tramadol under another brand name. There's plenty of information on this as doctors and pharmacists recognize that it can be confusing for patients. If you have been taking Tramadol and suddenly find you're being given Ultram, then don't worry - take a look on the internet and you'll soon find out that it is the same medication and you might save some money by purchasing your meds online. |
